Here is my favorite NYC icon at Astor Place. It's so reminiscent of Durer's Melancholia, don't you think? Note the Starbucks in the background; this also faces a McDonalds around the corner from St. Mark's. Welcome to ground zero for the East Village subculture. |

On the day we went it was filled with people and their little kids. I was amazed that I never thought to go here all the time I actually lived in NYC. Well, that's why we need vacations. |
